Laura Hudson – Lead Designer
Hi I’m Laura and I’m the lead designer for Topsy Turvy Theatre.
I’ve always enjoyed making and designing things ever since I was a little girl watching Art Attack and attempting all the projects shown each week. I graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2014 with a First Class degree in Graphic Design and was lucky enough to be able to help out on the set build for Topsy Turvy Theatre’s Christmas production, The Lost Present, in my second year. Once I graduated I began working more with Topsy Turvy Theatre and have since made the set/scenery for 5 of their touring productions, as well the puppets for 3 of them, including ALL of the guinea pigs in the Christopher Nibble series!
I also create all of the digital and print design content at Topsy Turvy Theatre, including flyers, posters, social media content and even this very website!
In my other working life I have my own home and giftware brand, Hashtag House, where I design and make things using laser cutting. My brand has been featured in a number of nationwide publications such as Ideal Home, Tatler and World of Interiors and I’ve been lucky enough to design products in collaboration with national institutions such as St Paul’s Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Harewood House, The National Gallery, and The Hepworth Wakefield.
