shauna mcswiney – Actor/Puppeteer

I am a Yorkshire born and bred creative who began my training in dance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. I then went on to graduate with a first-class honours degree in European Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College, during which I had the experience of training and living with a theatre company in the Czech Republic.

I have passion for all things visual and movement based and love to discover new ways of dynamic storytelling. I relish collaboration and enjoy directing (as well as performing!) and facilitating movement workshops.  I am a fresh graduate building my career as a freelance artist in the community, in both dance and theatre, working with a range of people from age 4 to 82. This includes regular sessions in care homes for people living with dementia and dance/ movement for young people.

Outside of the theatre I have a soft spot for sewing, yoga and Call the Midwife!

I am excited to be working throughout the Christmas period with Topsy Turvy Theatre to bring joy and magic to young audiences. I can’t wait to perform and bring the puppets in this beautiful story to life!
